Finally... a movie worth rating! Haha! (seriously... I finally had time to watch a movie... hehehe)

To be honest, I got a bit unexcited (is there such a word? haha) when we were falling in line at the Gold Cinema @ Festi when I saw the GP rating. The immediate movie that came in mind was Superman Returns - you know, that super dumb, senseless, boring movie starred by Brandon Routh. Well, you know - rated-GP as in GP = hero-for-the-kids type of movie. To my delight and much amusement - it was no where near it! This movie had enough kick as* sci-fi action to keep you awed the whole 2 hours.

The thing about adapting movies from comics, novels, from whatever books, cartoons or TV shows, people tend to compare the context of the movie to that from which it was taken. Good thing, I haven't read of any comic book for this one! Haha! But seriously, the movie adaptation was great. All I know about Iron Man is that Proton Canon-wielding character in Marvel arcade games. Who knew he would be this cool in the big screen adaptation! If you haven't heard how much I enjoyed The Transformers, well this one is at the same level with that. Hell yeah!

One of my most favorite scene was the dogfight - the one where he was testing out the new suit in real combat, then he was detected by the US Air Force. And this was while he was being checked out over the phone by his military buddy Jim Rhodes. Now that I have thought of it, kudos also to Terrence Howard for making his short stints in this film ooh so funny! He has so many icebreaker scenes to mention, including the "Next time, baby!" upon looking at Tony's original Iron Man suit. Great job!

Dude, you've got to see Gwyneth in this film... I had her mistaken on several shots as Kirsten Dunst! Haha! But on the evening party when Tony saw her for the first time in that gown... damn! *Tulo laway* scene... one for the ages! hahaha

What stood out the most was Robert Downy Jr.'s portrayal as Tony Stark - the dude is really hilarious, yet still good when he's on serious mode. He kinda reminded me of Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow; the type of character not all can do as great as they have. The Tony Stark he played was convincingly sarcastic yet funny, techy but cool, bad ass yet super smart. I don't know the actor before; haven't seen him in a movie or in a TV show (never even heard of the name... hehehe). Now, I'm a fan.

Fellas, this is one movie you should watch. In case you don't have a clue, let the trailer do the talking.

Though I missed a part where the leader of the S.H.I.E.L.D. approached Tony in the end... I guess I now have a reason to watch this in the big screen again! Hehehe

A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

The story of the movie is quite unique, and I liked the idea that they made the rats co-exist with the humans. I enjoy watchin' cooking shows so this one is a definite click for me (plus the fact that I am a Pixar animation fan... hehehe). Plus the details on how they created the 3D animation - the food, the lighting, to the water effects, city landscapes - these details were simply amazing.

I also loved the adventure parts of this movie - the part where Remy and his brothers escape from the old woman's house and when Remy was around the gourmet kitchen running around hiding from the humans. It was so heart-pounding watching him run under and through ovens and tables! Before I saw the movie, I had this thing for hating house rats. But after watching this, I realized that I still don't like them... Imagine them mass invading your stockroom or kitchen! Hahahaha Except for Remy of course. He's so cool and cute... hehe

So for those who haven't seen the movie yet, this is one animation flick you don't wanna miss. I promise you won't get disappointed!

Bon appetit!

Die Hard 4.0 is the 4th installment in the Die Hard film series. It stars veteran actor Bruce Willis as John McClane, a relatable everyman hero who tries to find out the mystery behind the attack on the United States infrastructure causing the nation to shut down. McClane is busy roughing up a boyfriend of his angry daughter, Lucy (Mary Ellen Winstead), a Princeton coed, when he gets a 2 a.m. call ordering him to corral a computer hacker and deliver him to the feds in Washington. Our hero not only finds Matt the hacker (Justin Long) but also saves him from a sniper and a downloaded virus that somehow turns his computer into an explosive device. By the time they get to D.C., the nation’s capital is in the midst of the July 4 weekend and a cybermeltdown.

~~~~~ The Oohhs and Aaahhs ~~~~~
Action movie at its finest: assasinations, explosions, shoot-outs, death-defying car chases, blowing cars, blowing choppers, shoot-outs, crashing buildings and overpasses, plus more and more shoot-outs - name it, this movie has it all!
Old-school stunts never cease to excite: Ever felt how close you are to being bumped by an out-of-control car in a freeway, or having the creeps that you're hanging in an elevetor vent, holding on a van's drivers' seat door? Watch this and find out.
Humor and good-old Bruce: And ofcourse, it's me that's reviewing, humor is an important element for my movies! Haha. And yeah, before we forget, it's Bruce Willis doing this movie, how can you not watch it? ;)
~~~~~ The Nopes and Naahs ~~~~~

At some points in the movie, you'll stop and think, "are these normal human beings to take all those punishments?". And then you say, "ahm, these are just detectives and hackers and kung fu martial artists, how come he / she is still alive after all that beating?". Yeah, yeah, just read the title and so Alex, you'll get the point - he's supposed to DIE HARD!!! It's the hardcore action that I'm buyin', not their superhuman tolerance to pain... makes sense?

Bottomline, this is one hell-of-a-good action movies. For making me almost jump out of my seat with all those death-defying stunts, this movie deserves a 5 for all the heart-pounding action and thrill!!! Yeah! \m/

Hey hey hey! This seems to be my first ever movie review. What can be better off starting my reviews than to write something good about the best film of the century... Oh and yes, that wasn't an overstatement. This is by far the BEST thing that came out in the big screen. Michael Bay did a hell of a job doing this film; as others would say he was born to direct Transformers. The movie is about two races of robotic aliens - the Autobots and the Decepticons - waging war for centuries with the fate of the universe at stake. When the battle comes to Earth, all that stands between the evil Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf. Sam, along with his friend Mikaela - played by Megan Fox) find themselves in a tug of war between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

~~~~~ The Oohhs and Aaahhs ~~~~~
Non-stop action: From Blackouts' attack on US airbase at the beginning, to the ultimate showdown between the Autobots and Decepticons, this movie will make you catch your breath with every nerve-wracking action scenes!
Computer animation at its finest: You have to see appreciate how complicated the robots transform: Optimus Prime alone have 10,108 parts all moving during transformation! While Ironhide's gun is composed of 10,000 pieces... Thats too much too handle for the animators!!! hahaha! My favorite was the Starscream transformation when he jumped in the air then in a sec he's a F-22 raptor zooming in the skies. Wicked sick!
Humor: The scene where the Autobots are in Sam's garage. The Autobots were waiting as Sam looks for the glasses when his parents barge in and question what he was doing. And when his parents took a peak out the window, all five giant robots hid from their sight in the most outrageous positions and locations! Sobrang kulet! Also the part where Sam was following Mikaela as she left her boyfriend in the lake. Baby come back! Pang LSS (last song syndrome) moment! hahaha
Plot: well, being a Transformer cartoon fanatic when I was a kid, I was really looking forward to how the filmmakers will translate make the movie their own. And thank God they brought justice to the big screen adaptation. Well, it was really different from the cartoons, but the big screen concept was not bad at all.
Cool cars and military air fighters: From Hummers to 18 wheelers to F-22 fighters, these robots are cruisin in style!
and cyempre si Megan Fox... two words dude: Certified RAPSA! hahaha
~~~~~ The Nopes and Naahs ~~~~~

Hey, even the best film have some cons. What's bad in this movie? You'll get addicted to it! Action, adventure and animation lovers will tend to watch it again... and again! hahaha (sorry folks, but I will be bias and be all positives in this movie... hehehe)

Well, I guess there's no better way to relate here than to watch the film. And by this time, I can't think of any person who hasn't. So many would definitely agree that 5 stars for this one is just not enough. This movie deserves 10! hahaha I'm so gonna watch this movie again for the 3rd time... It's worthy of being watched in the big screen again and again... ;)

Autobots, roll-out! \m/
